The Black Ghosts

Ever had that song that runs up, down, from side to side, and all over your mind, an intoxication of sound blasting from every possible angle into every possible ear. The Black Ghosts, an Electro /Pop duel from London have been out for a while, but the single “Any Way You Choose To Give It” has blasted from my desktop, car, phone, and home sound system recently. It’s a dope ass fucking song that every person needs to hear before dying. Work of genius.

Phoenix

Some of the best modern indie melodic songs that have emerged in the last few years have originated from the French/Pop band, Phoenix. In 2000, their "United" debut cd hit the market, and was even featured in movies such as Farrell's Brothers, Shallow Hal, and Lost in Translation. Alphabetical, released in 2004, has such hits as "Run Run Run" and "Everything is Everything." It's Never Been Like That, released in 2006, magnificent to say the least. It's one of those bands that just capture you and bring you down from whatever turmoil that might be twirling within your imploding mind. Check them out!

The led? Or the Leader?

this is something I wrote and had given to a professor to read.
- enrique

The Led? Or the Leader?
One of the sheep? Or Shepherd?
Am i truly in control of myself or do other factors around me have an impact on that self.

Perhaps I could debate the subject of the existence of one's self, but this arguments would in itself be riddled with "I's."

Plainly it exists.
Us being in true control of it - that is something I doubt.
In that romantic sense, we want to say I am myself, that my actions are controlled measures, and I, only I influence them.

Even I would love to sit here and write that my world exists purely by my actions, by my choices, and no one or no thing had any outward, inward influence on it. That I say is absurd. When you sit back and ponder on it, that is when those little contradictions arise.

Now then, if I can't control myself, or have pure control, how do I go on living? How has, or how will my existence be determined. If there even is a life existing when one's world is strictly determined, then there must be a prior destination of man.

Which exists?
We all are working toward the same end -
the thought of an immortal god exists in being due to our hopes as people living for an end.
The end no one can pull them self from.

Our death is much the best proof of physical determinism, you are watching yourself fade into oblivion with each day that passes.
This walk into that silent world - this will warrant some form of reaction.

As in reference to the "Absurd," or at times like that you are making, or trying to in that time.
So that self, you may have thought yourself as defined by, this self can move.
This self is not concrete, with each choice made, the supposed concrete cracks and thus a change is born.
When faced with death at an old age, just because you made it that far does not mean you have accepted it.

Still you have the chance for suicide - couldn't suicide be seen as a leap of faith. "I took my life in hope of God being there at the end." Or the "my faith in god allowed me to take my life."
Still there is acceptance/and acceptance could be tied with suicide and the leap of faith.

Chromeo

Every great super hero has their “fortress of solitude” where they device plans on how to defeat their arch nemesis or just chillax. Chrome’s electrofunk bat-cave is located in Montreal and New York City, where they create what half of us verly can imagine in our wildest dreams. This fantastic due is composed of P-Thugg (Patrick Gemayel), who’s weapons include keyboards, synthesizers, and talk box, and Dave 1 (David Macklovithc), who yields a guitar and lead vocals. They have been an unstoppable duo since early childhood, and are also known as the only successful Arab/Jewish collaboration since the begging of time. Imagine if Jesus and Muhammad join forces to make some kick ass fuckin’ music. |Art by Tonycristian29|

Indie 101

Tired of listening to the same old depressed shit that just makes you question so many things rather than enjoy life without regard to what it might mean. The fact that it is upbeat, happy, and romantic is all that matters. Don't get me wrong I like metal as much as the next head banger, but life is not always depressing, especially when you find beauty in the most and even the those likely places, things, or person. Here are a couple of bands that just rip that depressing self from your outer self, leaving you in a sublime state of mind. |Art by Mykola31|
